Did they let you use your own study materials or did the DME have his own book? My first oral was a disaster because the examiner kept asking stuff from a different textbook than what I studied. Third time was the charm for me too though, I went to a shop in Montana that had a really good reputation for helping people fix their weak spots. That feeling when they finally say "congratulations" is just THE BEST, I almost cried. It's such a relief after all that stress and studying.

My DME in Oklahoma had his own syllabus but let me bring my reference books too. I actually had a similar problem my second attempt, the guy kept asking about some obscure icing scenario that was only in the Jeppesen book he used but not in my ASA stuff. Your mileage may vary but I think a lot of these guys just go off whatever they have on their desk that morning. The Montana shop thing makes sense though, I heard some examiners out west are more flexible with what they accept for study materials. That congratulations moment is real though, I sat in my car for like 20 minutes after just staring at the plastic certificate.

My DME in Oregon let me use my own textbooks thank god, because I studied off the ASA books and he was fine with that. The thing that helped me most was recording myself answering questions out loud at home, just talking through the systems like I was explaining it to someone who knew nothing about planes. I also made a point to ask the examiner to rephrase any question I didn't get right away, that helped me slow down and actually think instead of panicking lol. Congrats on finally getting it done, that Spokane shop sounds like a solid place for people who need that extra push.
