Tried making “air fryer fried rice” last night and ended up with a smoke detector symphony and crispy clumps that could break a window

I used leftover rice that was two days old and didn't bother adding enough oil to coat everything, which I guess is why the rice just blew around inside like a tiny desert storm and then burned onto the heating element - has anyone actually gotten this to work without setting off every alarm in the house?

Sounds like user error, not a recipe problem.

omg I actually saw a chef on TikTok say you HAVE to use day old rice that's been dried out in the fridge uncovered or it just turns into a mess. Maybe try that and like a tablespoon of oil next time lol
