So tired of people crowding the basket and wondering why food gets soggy

My roommate keeps dumping a full pound of frozen fries into our Cosori 5.8 quart and then complains they come out limp. I've told him like 5 times that air needs to flow around each piece, but he says he doesn't want to do two batches. Last week he finally tried my way with just 8 ounces and suddenly they were actually crispy. Has anyone else dealt with someone who refuses to believe basket space matters?

My neighbor had the exact same problem with his Vortex last month. He kept piling fries up to the max line and then wondered why they tasted like steamed potatoes. I watched him do it once and the basket was so packed the hot air could barely move through. I finally had to show him side by side one afternoon, two baskets with different amounts, and he still argued about it until he tasted the difference. Some people just have to learn the hard way I guess.
