Shoutout to the air fryer at my sister's Super Bowl party

I went to my sister's place for Super Bowl and she made wings in her air fryer. They came out so crispy without all that oil mess. I grabbed a $60 one from Target the next day and now I use it almost every night. Has anyone else had that moment where you try someone else's and get hooked immediately?

Air fryers ruin the texture of good fried food, why settle?

Oh man, @the_parker I was totally with the air fryer hype until recently. I used to think they were the best thing since sliced bread, but then I compared a batch of my homemade fries done in the air fryer versus deep fried in oil. The difference was night and day, honestly. The air fryer ones came out dry on the inside and kinda tough on the outside, while the deep fried ones were perfectly crispy and fluffy. Made me realize it's not the same thing at all, it's more like a convection oven that dries stuff out. So yeah, you're right, it's not settling for less if you actually want that real fried food experience.
