Question about getting even browning in an air fryer

Spent about $30 on a silicon basket liner for my air fryer thinking it would make cleanup easy. Big mistake. It blocked all the air flow and my chicken came out half soggy and half burnt. Took me three tries to realize the liner was the problem. Anyone else have trouble with these things? I'm back to just spraying the basket with oil and it works way better now. What do you guys use to keep stuff from sticking without ruining the crisp?

You tried the rubber mat trick? Game changer for me.

My 2017 Forester's rubber mat turned into a skating rink after a single rainy week (I nearly took out my neighbor's mailbox). The trapped moisture underneath actually made the cockpit smell like a wet dog for three months straight. Hard pass on that whole setup, honestly.
