PSA: Air fryer wings dont get crispy unless you flip them halfway

I kept seeing everyone rave about how air fryer chicken wings come out perfect, but mine were always soggy on one side. After about 8 tries across 3 weeks I finally figured it out - you gotta flip them at the 12 minute mark every single time. I use 375 degrees for 24 minutes total at my place in Columbus. Has anyone else had this issue or found a better temp to use?

Man, tell me about it! I went through the exact same thing. First batch I made in my air fryer were just sad, like steamed wings with a little crunch on the bottom. After a few tries I started flipping them at the 10 minute mark and that helped a ton. But here's the thing I also started patting them dry with paper towels before I put any seasoning on, and that made a bigger difference than I thought it would. I run mine at 380 for about 22 minutes and the flip at around halfway is non-negotiable now. Last batch I did I even cranked it up to 400 for the last 4 minutes after flipping and they came out restaurant quality.

And drying them out first is exactly what most people skip, it makes all the difference. @morganhill have you tried tossing them in a little baking powder with the seasoning? That plus the dry off trick gives you that almost fried texture without the oil.
