Bought a $15 silicone liner for my air fryer, almost ruined dinner last night
The liner melted onto the fries and smoked up my whole kitchen. I thought it would save cleanup time, but instead I had to toss the food and scrub the basket for 20 minutes. Has anyone found a liner that actually works without doing this?

Whoa, wait a second. I mean, maybe it's just me here, but I don't think the liner itself is the real problem. It's more about what you're cooking and how much moisture there is. Those silicone ones work great for dry stuff like frozen chicken tenders or tots, but the second you get any oil or wet batter on them, that stuff gets between the liner and the basket and creates steam pockets. That steam gets super hot and causes the liner to warp and melt onto your food. I use a cheap silicone liner for things like roasted potatoes, but I always put a single layer of food in there so it's not sitting in its own juice. Still a gamble though, not gonna lie.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I did the exact same thing but with a parchment paper liner that said "air fryer safe" on the box. It caught fire and I had to pull the damn thing out with tongs while my smoke alarm went off. My husband walked in and asked if I was trying to burn the house down for the insurance money. I just use plain parchment paper cut to size now, but I make sure to put something heavy like a piece of bread on top so it doesn't fly up into the heating element. Still a gamble though. Honestly, I think those silicone liners are a scam unless you're just reheating pizza.
