Tried an AI interior design tool on my own place, got a wild surprise
I remodeled my own living room last fall and figured I'd test one of those AI layout apps just for fun. Uploaded a photo of the room and it suggested moving my couch against the east wall and ditching my floor lamp entirely. I laughed at first, but after moving things around for an afternoon, the space actually felt bigger and the light from the window hit way better. Now I'm wondering if I've been laying out rooms wrong for 15 years, or if these tools are just good at catching basic flow issues. Has anyone else had an AI suggest something that seemed dumb but actually worked?

The part about the floor lamp caught my eye because I actually think lamps do more for a room than people give them credit for. Moving the couch makes sense since flow matters, but getting rid of a light source just to open up space feels like losing something important for the sake of a trend. You got a good result, but I'd be careful about trusting the app over your own comfort when it comes to lighting.
