That AI writing assistant I called a gimmick now saves me 2 hours a week
I was pretty vocal in the beginning about how these AI writing tools were just fancy autocomplete. But my editor kept pushing one on me for newsletter drafts. After three tries with different prompts I finally got it to produce a rough draft that only needed light edits. Now I use it for first pass on Monday morning content. Has anyone else seen a measurable time savings or is this just a honeymoon phase?

Same here, once I learned to set clear guidelines it clicked fast.

Read a piece the other day about how these models get better the more you use them, learning your style. Started using mine to rewrite my awkward first paragraphs into something readable. Takes about ten minutes to get a decent draft now where I used to stare at a blank screen for an hour. The time saving is definitely real for me, though maybe not forever if they start charging a monthly fee that's too high.

oh man i feel this hard. i was the same way, told everyone it was just a toy. but after a month of using it for my weekly blog posts i've cut my writing time from like 3 hours to maybe 1. the trick for me was getting past that initial frustration of it spitting out junk. once i figured out how to give it the right starting points it became way more useful. still won't trust it for important stuff without heavy rewrites though.
