Still think the 'AI prompt engineer' craze is overblown

Back in January a guy on LinkedIn told me I should pay $200 for a course on prompt engineering to keep my business relevant. I laughed it off because I figured anyone can type a question into a box. Fast forward to last month when I spent 8 hours fighting with an AI tool to generate a simple tree trimming FAQ for my website, and my neighbor's kid did it in 10 minutes by structuring the prompts right. Has anyone else found that learning to talk to these things is actually more of a skill than they expected?

Yeah I used to be totally on that side lol. I had this whole "it's just typing" attitude until I spent an hour getting nonsense back from a chatbot while a buddy nailed it in three tries with way better wording. Definitely changed my mind on the whole thing.

My buddy spent an afternoon trying to get a chatbot to write a recipe and his daughter did it in two minutes by just being specific.
