Spent 4 hours trying to get AI to write a simple email template

I needed a basic email template for client follow-ups. I figured I'd just ask ChatGPT to spit one out and be done in 5 minutes. Instead I spent 4 hours tweaking the prompt because the tone was either too robotic or too salesy. Finally I just wrote it myself in 10 minutes. Has anyone else noticed AI struggles with nailing a casual but professional tone for business emails?

Man, I had the same problem last month trying to draft a client email. What finally worked was writing it out super casual first like I was texting a friend, then going back and swapping out slang for normal words. Kept the short sentences and contractions but dropped the "hey what's up" stuff. Took me three tries but the final version got a "perfect tone" from my boss.

Tried that exact approach with a client email last week. Writing it casual first then cleaning it up worked way better than any prompt I came up with. Grace is right, the AI just can't get that balance right on its own.
