Saw an AI art display at the local museum yesterday

Went to the small modern art museum in Portland last weekend. They had this whole room dedicated to AI generated paintings. One piece was trained on 10,000 landscape photos but it came out looking like a melted mountain. Honestly felt weird standing there knowing no human actually painted it. Anyone else feel like AI art is missing something human or is it just me?

and that's exactly why I can't get into it. I stood in front of one of those AI paintings at a gallery last month and it just felt empty. Like looking at a really detailed math problem instead of art. All the technical skill is there but none of the soul. You can tell it was trained on other people's work too, so it's basically just remixing stolen ideas. I don't care how many landscapes it processed, it doesn't know what a mountain feels like after rain or how the light hits at sunset. That human experience part is everything and it's just missing.

Paying museum prices to watch a printer malfunction seems on brand.

Paying museum prices" is a stretch though, most of these places are like $25 or free on certain days. That's less than a movie ticket for something that takes most people a couple hours to get through. The printer part is funny but I gotta say I've seen some wild installations that were way more interesting than a broken office printer. What kind of malfunction are you talking about, was it just jamming or doing something actually weird?
