My AI transcript tool turned a 20 min meeting into 6 pages of pure nonsense
Fired up a new AI notetaker for a Tuesday call with a supplier in Mesa and it transcribed the whole thing as recipes. It heard 'bracket order' as 'bake it harder' and gave me a shopping list for chicken thighs. I had to replay the recording twice, then scrub 6 pages of fake paragraphs to get the 3 real action items. So which is it, is this stuff just not ready or am I using it wrong? Drop your worst AI fail, I need to know I'm not the only one.
The "bake it harder" thing cracked me up but I gotta push back on one part, it's probably not the tool being "not ready" so much as it choking on your audio. I learned this the hard way last year, turns out stuff like bad mics, speakerphone echo, or people talking over each other is what makes these things invent words out of thin air. Mine used to write "free samples" every time someone said "freight samples" and I thought the whole thing was garbage. Once we switched to a real mic and asked everyone to mute when not talking, the goofy stuff dropped off a lot. So before you toss it, try one call with clean audio, you might be surprised how much of the nonsense was the room and not the AI.
