I thought AI could not write anything funny, then I saw my cousin's wedding toast go from a Google Doc to actual laughs
Six months ago my cousin asked me to help with his wedding toast in Portland because he knows I mess around with AI stuff for work. My first try was a disaster. The AI gave me lines like "marriage is a journey" and "two hearts beating as one" and I laughed at how bad it was. But I kept tweaking it, feeding it real stories about him and his wife, like the time they got stuck in a rainstorm at Cannon Beach and ate gas station sandwiches for dinner. Around the fourth round something clicked. The AI started mixing the jokes in the right spots, and it nailed the timing on the callback about the sandwiches. At the actual wedding last month, people were laughing so hard his mom had to wipe her eyes. I still wrote the final version myself, but the AI got me 80% of the way there in like 20 minutes. So now I'm wondering, has anyone else had an AI draft that started out cringey and somehow turned into something people actually liked?
