Coworker at my Chicago office said AI agents would make my job pointless, so I tracked what our team actually built in 8 weeks
This guy on my team kept saying our coding jobs were done for, so I started logging every AI suggestion we shipped since June. Most of what the tools gave us was buggy and we still fixed everything by hand, plus we spent more time checking its output than writing code. Did anyone else's AI tools turn out way less useful than the hype made it seem?
