A friend told me my AI art looked too perfect and it clicked

I was showing off some character portraits I made with a new image generator, and my buddy who's an artist said 'They look great, but they're all flawless. Real people have weird teeth and messy hair.' I realized I was just hitting generate on the same polished style over and over. Now I add prompts like 'asymmetrical smile' or 'flyaway hairs' to get more life into them. Has anyone else gotten a piece of feedback that made you change how you prompt?

That "too perfect" thing is real. I got the same note on some fake product photos I was making, everything looked like a sterile stock image. Now I add "slightly crumpled label" or "dust on the shelf" and it's a total game changer.

My last render looked like a robot's dream kitchen.

But is it really that big of a deal? I see stuff online all the time that looks fake and perfect, and I just scroll past it. Adding a little dust feels like trying too hard to be real. Maybe some people just like clean pictures? Not everything needs to look lived in.
