Told my friend that AI mashups of food and animals are lazy art...

He said "just try it once with a specific prompt" so I did a pug mixed with a bagel and it got 300 upvotes in a day. I guess I was wrong about the whole thing, anyone else had a mashup they thought was dumb that actually worked?

Actually that's pretty funny timing because I just saw a banana octopus one that made me groan but it had like 500 upvotes... So what made you finally give in and try it after telling your friend it was lazy?

Man, 500 upvotes for a banana octopus? That's the kind of thing that makes you question the whole internet. What finally got me was seeing a "tiny floating trash can" one that was literally just a regular post-it note with a trash can drawing on it. It had like 300 upvotes. I rolled my eyes so hard they almost got stuck. But then I thought, maybe the joke is that it's so BAD it circles back to being funny. So I just drew a raccoon in a dumpster on a napkin and posted it. It was pure junk but it got 150 upvotes. Now I'm hooked on seeing how lazy I can get.

Nah, I see it differently. All those mashups just feel like the same joke over and over. One pug bagel getting upvotes doesn't mean the whole thing isn't lazy, it just means the algorithm likes cute dogs with food.
