Remember that weird furry avocado mashup from 3 years ago?

I still think about that image someone posted back in 2021 of a fuzzy green avocado with dog legs and eyes. It was so simple but it made me laugh every time I saw it. One guy in the comments said 'this is the future of breakfast' and for some reason that stuck with me. I remember it was on a Tuesday night and I was scrolling after a long shift. That post had like 400 upvotes and people were just riffing in the comments for hours. Makes me wonder if anyone else remembers that specific mashup or has a favorite old one that still pops into their head randomly?

Oh man, I totally remember that avocado thing! What gets me is how nobody ever talks about the context of why furry things were even trending back then. I swear there was a whole week where someone was photoshopping random textures onto food items, like a denim banana and a corduroy apple. That avocado was just the one that broke through, probably because the dog legs gave it that cursed but cute look. It's funny how one weird post can become a whole inside joke for a group you'll never meet again.

Wait wait wait - a DENIM banana? I completely missed that phase somehow and now I feel like I missed out on the weirdest culinary fashion show of 2014 or whenever that was. Corduroy apple sounds like something you'd find in a hipster's pocket and I'm honestly not sure if I'm mad I didn't see it or relieved. But the cursed cute dog leg avocado though? That thing was genuinely unsettling in the best way possible. It's wild how the internet just collectively decided that was the one to remember while the denim banana faded into oblivion.
