I finally changed my mind about AI art mashups after hating them for years

Honestly, last week I saw this image of a lobster driving a tiny car and I laughed so hard. 3 years ago I thought AI mashups were just lazy junk with no soul. Then I tried making one myself using a free tool online, mixing a raccoon and a motorcycle. Now I get why people love them, it's just pure dumb fun. Anyone else come around on these things after making their first one?

Three years ago I saw a mashup of a cat with a helicopter rotor on its head and thought it was the ugliest thing ever. Even now I don't get the appeal. A lobster in a tiny car is just a lobster with wheels photoshopped on, not really creative or funny. The raccoon motorcycle one sounds like something my nephew would draw in 5 minutes. I tried making one too using that free app and it felt more like clicking buttons than making art. What makes it fun for you exactly?
