Hot take: Midjourney smokes DALL-E 3 for animal mashups
I spent all last weekend trying to get a good "pug dressed as a taco" image from both platforms. Midjourney nailed the fur texture and taco shell crunch look in under 2 minutes per try. DALL-E 3 kept giving me a weird blob that looked like a melted dog. I ran 15 versions on each and Midjourney won 12 out of 15 times for realism and funny details. Has anyone else tested these two side by side for specific mashup ideas like fruit animals or food vehicles?

Wait, did you notice how Midjourney handles the fur-to-food transition better too? Ngl I spent like 3 hours comparing "frog riding a pizza slice" images and Midjourney gave me this little frog with its legs dangling over the crust while DALL-E kept giving me a frog that looked like it was melting into the cheese. Tbh the cross-hatch shading on the pepperoni was way more defined too. I had better luck with DALL-E on simpler combos like "cat butterfly" but for anything with food involved Midjourney just knows how to keep the textures separate and funny.

Did you try turning off the style reference or using a specific seed number on DALL-E? Ive heard that can help with consistency, but Midjourney seems to just "get" the concept of a taco dog without needing that extra work. The texture mismatch between two totally different subjects is always the hard part.
