Last month an old client of mine tried to stiff us on a campaign we already finished. They claimed the deliverables were late, but I dug back through our signed agreement and found a line about client feedback timelines that they blew past by 9 days. That single clause was the whole argument, we sent a one page recap with the dates and they paid within 48 hours. I never used to read the penalty sections closely, now I check those before any project kicks off. Anyone else had a contract line save them from a messy fight?
