Nearly got sued because of a 30 day contract clause I skimmed over

Client contract had a renewal auto clause buried on page 14. Took me 3 months to realize it was locking us in. Had to pay a $2,000 fee to get out. Has anyone else missed something dumb in a standard agency agreement?

Hired a lawyer friend to read every contract before signing, never skipped that step since.

Man, that's the thing about lawyers though - you pay them to catch stuff, but half the time they're just as bad at skimming as we are. Did you at least make them eat the cost of their own missed clause?
