Just lost $400 on a cheap contract template from a random site

Bought a $40 service agreement template off some shady marketplace for a client project, ended up missing two key clauses and had to pay a real lawyer $360 to fix it. Anyone else get burned by those budget legal templates or am I the only one who thought it would save money?

Oh man, that stings. I did something similar a couple years back with a landlord form and it cost me double in the end. These cheap templates always miss the fine print that actually matters.

Wait, did you at least try to fight the extra charges? That's brutal. Honestly, a buddy of mine downloaded a free lease template for his apartment sublet last summer and it totally backfired. The stupid thing didn't have any clause about utility bills, so he ended up paying for his roommate's AC habit all month. Tbh, I always just pay a lawyer a flat fee now to check my paperwork, feel like it saves more than it costs in the long run.
