Found a 2 line clause in our sub agreement that saved us $4,800 in a dispute last week
We kept getting dinged for scope creep on a retainer and nobody could prove who approved what, so I started making every change order go through a single email thread with a timestamped reply. Anyone else got a paper trail trick that actually held up when things got ugly?

Kept a running text thread with my contractor for every little change and it saved my butt when he tried to bill for stuff we never agreed on. Funny how the same trick works everywhere, getting stuff in writing is like taking a photo of the rental car before you drive off.
