Figuring out non-compete clauses is driving me nuts

I mean, how broad can these things be? It seems like they're trying to lock people out of the industry lmao.

They're standard in my field actually.

Makes sense they're standard for you, Keith. Have you tried asking if there's a cheaper option that still gets the job done? People forget to just ask, and it saves a lot of hassle.

Ever notice how that works? My buddy needed his car fixed last month and the shop gave him this big quote. He just straight up asked if there was a way to cut the cost, maybe with a used part instead of new. They found one that worked fine and saved him like two hundred bucks. Sometimes they won't budge, but a lot of times they have options they don't mention unless you ask.
