Client ghosted after I sent the contract for review

Got a new client through a referral last month, sent over a standard service agreement I've used for years. They went quiet for 2 weeks then emailed saying they 'had concerns about liability clauses.' Turns out they showed it to their brother who is a corporate lawyer and he flagged stuff that was totally normal for agency work. Now I'm wondering if I should just use a simpler MSA template going forward. Anyone else had non-lawyer clients freak out over basic legal language?

lol yeah that's rough but honestly this happens all the time. Clients get spooked by lawyer speak because it sounds scary when you're not used to it. I've had people freak out over indemnification clauses and limitation of liability stuff that's literally copy pasted from like every contract in existence. Just tell them straight up what it means in plain english before you send it next time. Or yeah maybe use a simpler template but honestly most of that language is there for a reason.

Heard this from a buddy who runs a handyman biz. Sent a standard liability waiver to a new client and got six emails back asking if he was gonna sue them for breaking their own stuff.
