Client asked for a contract that says they own everything even if they don't pay us
Had a lead last week who wanted us to sign a contract where they keep full rights to all our work even if they never pay a dime. Said it was 'standard practice' in their industry. I asked them if their landlord lets them keep the building after they stop paying rent. The silence on the phone was deafening. Anyone else run into clients who think legal protections should only work one way?

@henderson.vera basically hit it right on the head. What kind of industry even claims that's standard? That landlord analogy was perfect, what did they say back after that pause?
