Caught my own agency contract renewal trap after 4 years

I used to just sign whatever renewal my clients sent over, figured it was fine since we'd worked together so long. Then one client added a 90 day notice clause in the fine print and I almost got locked in for another whole year, has anyone else found sneaky language hiding in renewal clauses?

People get so comfortable with routines they stop reading the fine print everywhere, not just contracts. It's the same reason nobody checks their bank statement until something's off.
