Update: I spent $86 on a weighted hula hoop from TikTok shop and I'm worse at it than my 13 year old cousin
Everyone on there acts like 10 minutes a day gives you abs but after 6 weeks here in Columbus all I got is a sore hip and a hoop that keeps flying into my coffee table, so is it just me or did this trend burn everyone else too?
I gotta push back a little on the hoop flying into your coffee table part, because that usually means the hoop is too light, not that you're bad at it. The cheap TikTok ones are often filled with less weight than advertised, so they spin too fast and fly off instead of hugging your waist. A real weighted hoop should be at least 2 pounds and if it's not, no amount of practice will fix it. Also 6 weeks is honestly not that long for your hips to adjust, mine hurt for like 2 months before it clicked. So the trend didn't exactly burn you, you just got sold a junk hoop lol.
