My 14 year old niece watched me floss my teeth after lunch, and what she said kind of rocked me
Last week my niece stayed with us while her parents were out of town, and after lunch she just stared at me in the bathroom while I flossed. I asked what, and she goes "you do that like it's a trend video." I laughed it off, but then it sat with me. So much of what I do all day, gum checks, brushing angles, the little habits I've built over 12 years, is exactly the stuff teens are filming for clout right now. What feels like plain routine to me is entertainment to someone who grew up watching it on a screen. Here's my hot take, and I'll say it loud since no one else will: most of these "adult tries the teen trend" posts are backward. We aren't guests in their world, they're borrowing ours. So my question for you all, what boring thing have you been doing for years that a younger person recently acted like was brand new?
That flip is real, they're not teaching us anything, they're just discovering stuff we already knew. My grandkid filmed me sewing a button back on last month like I was doing a magic trick.
