I Thought the "Jellyfish Haircut" Was a Joke, But My 16-Year-Old Cousin Convinced Me to Try It at a Salon in Austin
I saw that jellyfish haircut all over TikTok back in March and laughed at it for a month straight. My cousin Maya is 16 and she bet me 20 bucks I wouldn't actually get it done. So two Saturdays ago I went to a spot on South Congress here in Austin and told the stylist to just go for it. The top part is short and blunt, like a bowl cut, and then it drops into long thin strands in the back. I figured I'd hate it and wear a beanie for 3 weeks, but honestly it grew on me by day 2. The short part keeps my neck cool in this Texas heat and the long part still goes in a ponytail for work. Anyone else over 30 try a teen haircut and end up keeping it, or did you run back to your old style?
