Unpopular opinion: my $12 thrift store dog bed beat the $90 orthopedic one for my rescue pit mix
Adopted Rosie, a 6 year old pit mix, back in March and she would not touch the fancy orthopedic bed I bought from the pet store downtown. She kept sleeping on a lumpy old cushion I grabbed for $12 at a thrift shop on Fulton Street. Turns out she wanted something she could dig at and circle on, and the cheap cushion had that worn in give the $90 bed did not. Anyone else's rescue pick the junk bed over the good one, and did you just give up and let them win?
Why do rescues always KNOW what they want and it's never what we buy them? Rosie sounds like she has great taste honestly. My girl did the SAME thing, ignored the $80 bed and claimed a beat up pillow from Goodwill. I gave up after like two weeks and now the fancy bed just sits there collecting dust. Let them win, it's their house now.
