Stop calling every scared foster cat 'feral', my girl Peach proved that wrong in 11 days

When I brought Peach home from the Franklin shelter, the front desk person said she was feral and would probably never warm up, but she was just terrified and hiding under the bed. I sat on the floor with tuna and talked to her for 20 minutes a day, and by day 11 she was asleep on my chest. Calling a scared cat feral makes people give up too fast, and it happens all the time at my local rescue. Has anyone else taken in a "feral" cat that turned out to be a total lap cat?
