That Duolingo owl ad with the giant mascot suit made me turn off my TV, did I overreact?
Last Friday I was watching the game at my buddy's place in Columbus and that Duolingo ad came on where the owl mascot is like 8 feet tall and staring into the camera. I grabbed the remote and flipped it to the weather channel, and my friend lost it laughing at me. Now I keep seeing clips of it everywhere and people calling it genius, but it just made me feel weird and watched. Is this one of those ads that's supposed to be creepy on purpose, or did the brand just miss the mark? I want to know if anyone else bailed on it too.
