A guy in a Reddit thread told me to mute every ad under 15 seconds and it wrecked my feed
He said short spots are just noise and I'd save my sanity, so I muted them all for two weeks straight. Now I have zero clue what anyone at work is talking about when they bring up the dancing lizard or the screaming mattress lady, and I'm the odd one out at lunch. Anyone got a better filter than just killing everything under 15 seconds?
The real move is muting by sound, not by length, because the dancing lizard jingle is the actual thing that drills into your skull, not the 30 seconds it takes to play. You could also do a keyword mute on brand names and let the short stuff through if it's not the same three companies hammering you every break. Half the reason those dumb ads stick is repetition anyway, so cutting the repeat offenders does more for your sanity than a blanket time limit.
