Just realized I was totally wrong about those loud local furniture ads
For years I flipped past the Bob's Discount Furniture spots in like 2 seconds because the guy yelling about recliners drove me nuts. Then last month I watched a whole block of them back to back on purpose and saw the pattern, every ad hits the same three things in about 15 seconds: the price said out loud, a real family sitting on the couch, and that jingle at the end. It's annoying on purpose so you remember it, and after watching maybe 20 of them I could hum the tune, which is exactly the point. I used to think cheap loud ads just meant the product was junk. Now I'm sitting here wondering if plain quiet ads are actually failing and nobody wants to admit it. Has anyone else gone back and watched a terrible ad until it started to make sense?
