Hot take: I started muting weird ads instead of rewatching them and it changed how I vote here
For like a year I would sit through every cringe ad twice to catch the details before voting, which honestly made me rate stuff higher than it deserved. About 3 weeks ago I switched to watching once at normal speed and just screenshotting the frame that bugs me, and my votes got way harsher. Last Tuesday I did this with a local mattress ad where the guy whisper-yells at a pillow, and I went from a smash to an easy pass in like 10 seconds. The extra rewatch was making me think the weird stuff was clever when it was just loud. Does anyone else feel like rewatching an ad tricks you into liking it more?
