The copywriter on my team said to cut our whole ad down to one line, and she was dead right
Back in January we were running a 45 second video ad for our little coffee cart on 5th Street, and it was doing almost nothing. My coworker Dana kept telling me to try one clean line with no music and no voiceover, just text on a plain background, and I brushed her off for three straight weeks. I finally cut it down to 8 words on Tuesday, posted it, and it did 3x the taps of the fancy video in 2 days. The funny part is she had zero marketing background, she just runs the register. The whole thing cost me nothing and I'm still a little annoyed she was so right. Has anyone else had a random person give better ad advice than an actual agency?
