Shoutout to the 1993 Nike ad that got pulled in 48 hours and came back with a completely different ending
I collect banned spots and I finally tracked down both cuts of a Nike commercial that got yanked from UK TV back in 1993. The first version ended with a shot of a kid walking off a court alone and the network got over 200 complaints in two days, so Nike recut it and swapped in a crowd cheering him on. Same footage, same song, totally different feeling, all because somebody cut the last four seconds and added people. I have watched both back to back like ten times and the pulled one is way better. Does anyone know where the original complaint letters ended up, or am I chasing something that got shredded?
