That cereal ad cut one kid from the table and I still think about it

I remember watching a Cheerios ad back in like 2015 where a mixed family sat around a kitchen table and it looked totally normal to me. Last month I pulled up the same ad on YouTube and one of the kids was just gone, like they spliced in a plate of cereal where his head used to be. Come to find out the company quietly re-edited it after a bunch of angry comments, which is wild because the original version ran for almost 2 years first. Now I catch myself pausing old ads just to see if the shadows don't match or someone's elbow looks weird. Has anybody else spotted an edit where the replacement is somehow MORE obvious than the thing they were hiding?
