I muted Hulu ads for a month and tracked it, then did the same with YouTube, and the gap shocked me
I kept a tally in my notes app from January 6 to February 6 and muted every ad I could. On Hulu I hit mute 214 times and still heard the same Liberty Mutual jingle 38 times because muting does nothing when the ad plays before the button shows up. On YouTube I hit skip after 5 seconds and heard maybe 6 full ads the entire month. So I dropped Hulu and put that $11.99 toward YouTube Premium. Three weeks in and my blood pressure at 9pm is a different animal. Anyone else keep a dumb little tally like this, or am I the only one who treats ad breaks like a science project?
