DAE know that the average person sees like 10,000 ads a day? I saw that stat in a Netflix doc and now I feel insane
So last week I was watching that documentary about screen time and the narrator said we see somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 ads every single day. I paused it and just sat there because that number seems fake until you actually start counting. I did a test for one morning, just writing down every ad I noticed on my phone, and I hit 47 before I even finished my coffee. Most of them were those little sponsored posts tucked between stories on Instagram that look like normal pics until you see the tiny 'Sponsored' tag. It made me realize I have been scrolling past the same mattress ad for like 3 months without even clocking it. Does anyone know where that 10,000 number actually comes from, or is it one of those stats that just got repeated until everyone believed it?
