Watched a local car dealership ad in Tulsa where the guy's phone rang on camera and he answered it
So I'm sitting at my brother's place in Tulsa last Saturday and a commercial comes on for some dealership over on Memorial. The owner is doing his own pitch, real low budget, standing next to a pickup. Halfway through his spiel his phone starts buzzing in his pocket and he actually pulls it out and goes "hold on, I gotta take this." The camera just keeps rolling. He talks to somebody about a trade-in for like 20 seconds while the logo sits there in the corner. Nobody cut it. Nobody re-shot it. They just aired the whole thing. Since that night I can't watch any local ad without waiting for the wheels to come off, and I've caught three more with weird edits, a shadow of a boom mic, and one where a guy clearly reads the wrong price off a card. I honestly think local ads are the last honest TV left, the big national spots are too polished to ever mess up. Am I the only one who now watches commercials more than the shows? Drop the worst local ad blooper you've seen in your town.
Man, it's just a car commercial. Half these lots are barely keeping the lights on, so a guy taking a call on camera is less "honest TV" and more "nobody there to stop him." I've seen worse, but it's not some big statement about anything.
