Saw a car commercial where the driver's hands never touch the wheel, and now I can't unsee it
I was watching a car ad during the local news in Cleveland last Tuesday and noticed the driver in the background shots kept his hands hovering about two inches off the wheel the whole time. It looked like he was playing an invisible piano, and once I saw it I couldn't stop staring. Is this a common editing trick they teach, or did the actor just forget how driving works?
Didn't they actually stop using real drivers in a lot of those shots and switch to green screen? I mean the hands floating thing is usually because the car is on a rig or the ad was shot with the car parked and the background added later.
