I compared my local car dealer's ad to a Super Bowl spot and spotted the exact frame where they cropped the logo wrong
Last week I paused the Frame By Frame app on a 15 second dealership ad in Columbus and caught a half second where the dealership's name was slapped over a competitor's plate. Meanwhile the $7 million national spot that ran right after had clean edits, no weird text pop, nothing. Why do local ads get chopped up like this while the big ones look so polished, is it just budget or do the small shops not check the final cut?
Maybe the dealership ad looks messy because the person cutting it is working with way more limits than we realize. A local shop might have one guy doing the edit, the media buy, and the upload all in the same afternoon, so a half second of wrong text slipping through is almost expected. Big brands have teams of people checking every frame three times before it airs, plus agencies that get paid just to catch stuff like that. Also the local ad probably got resized and reformatted for like six different platforms, so something could have broke in that step instead of the edit itself. Calling it lazy or careless feels harsh when the budget gap is doing most of the damage here.
