A guy on Reddit told me my garage sale ad had 4 typos in one sentence, so now I read everything out loud
About two weeks ago I threw up a quick ad for a garage sale in my neighborhood Facebook group and thought it was fine. Some guy named Dave commented that I wrote "Satuday" and "everthing" and "garge" and "at 8am in the morning", which is four mistakes in one sentence. I was kinda mad at first but then I read it back and yeah, it was rough. I had typed the whole thing on my phone while walking my dog. What changed things was when Dave said he almost skipped my post because he thought it was a scam from a bot. That got me thinking about all the weird ads I see on TV too, like the ones where the phone number doesn't match the website at the bottom of the screen. So now before I post anything, even a comment, I read it out loud first. Way more stuff slips by your eyes than your ears. Has anyone else caught a typo in their own ad after it was already up?
