Got ads for a standing desk 2 days after my chiropractor in Denver said 'sit less,' but the $1,200 one and the $180 one were basically the same

I mentioned back tightness to my doctor in Denver on a Monday and by Wednesday my feed was full of standing desks, so I did the dumb thing and ordered both the $1,200 motorized one and a $180 manual crank one to compare. The expensive one broke after 6 weeks (control panel just died), while the cheap crank one is still going 8 months later and I actually like it more because there's nothing to break. Is it just me or does the price on these things have zero connection to how long they last?
