Visited the Jumping Rock at Lake Travis and noticed something off

I drove up to the Jumping Rock at Lake Travis last Saturday for the first time in years, and there was a guy there filming everyone who jumped. His phone was propped on a tripod and he was asking people to sign a waiver. Is that spot turning into a viral fame trap now?

Last time I was there like two years ago nobody was filming, so I figured it was still a low-key spot. I've heard people complain about influencers ruining places and always rolled my eyes, but watching a guy with a waiver clipboard definitely changed my mind on that. It just sucks when a place you've been going to since high school turns into someone's content farm.

omg that's literally what happened to my friend Sarah at this tiny waterfall we used to go to. she showed up last summer and there was a whole crew with ring lights and a sign-in sheet for waivers. totally killed the vibe.

A WAIVER CLIPBOARD?? That's absolutely INSANE. Like are they actually worried someone is going to sue them for slipping on a wet rock while they're trying to get a perfect shot for their sponsored granola ad? I can't believe people are literally signing legal paperwork just to access a natural swimming hole. Next thing you know they'll have you fill out a W-2 and a direct deposit form for the privilege of being an extra in their Instagram story. The whole thing is such a slap in the face to everyone who has been quietly enjoying that spot for years.
