That viral apology video everyone loved? I think the guy was just trying to save face
Remember that video of the baker who accidentally insulted a customer's wedding cake on TikTok and then apologized? Everyone said it was so genuine. But I knew the guy from a local baking group in Portland. He told me directly that his business was losing orders fast, so he posted that. The apology got 2 million views and his shop is still packed. I think people just want to believe the story.

Portland? Wait, he straight up told you that before the video blew up? That's actually crazy if he admitted it was damage control from the start...

pretty wild how everyone just ate it up without question, idk. like maybe the real story isnt even about whether he meant it or not. the thing nobody talks about is how fast people jump to defend someone who cries on camera, no matter what they did. i saw a comment section where someone said "you can tell he's hurting" and i was like, yeah, because he's losing money. maybe its just me but the whole thing felt like a test to see how much heart eyes you can get from being vulnerable in public. and turns out, it works really well.
