My neighbor's cat video blew up and now she's getting brand deals
She posted a 15 second clip of her cat falling off a couch last year and it got 8 million views. Now she's doing ads for pet food and I think it's kind of sad how a silly moment turned into a job. Has anyone else seen a normal person's life get weird like that after a viral post?

That "silly moment turned into a job" thing is the weirdest part. It must feel strange to have your pet's goof become your main income.

Can you imagine trying to explain that to your parents? "Yeah mom, my 401k is now tied to the dog eating a whole rotisserie chicken off the counter. The merch line is doing great though." You went from buying chew toys to having business meetings about chew toy licensing. It's a wild ride from "bad dog" to "brand ambassador.

I used to roll my eyes at pet influencers until my cousin's dachshund got popular for stealing socks. That dog's weird habit paid for their roof repair last summer. It made me realize if my cat's dumb antics could cover vet bills, I'd probably lean into it too. The whole thing still feels strange but I get why people do it now.
